When I started Sokos Social in September 2014, my main focus was serving small businesses in digital marketing and social media.

As the years have passed, the industry has evolved, and so has my personal understanding of the needs of business owners and organization heads.

Our team has grown in numbers and depth of knowledge. But what hasn’t changed is our team’s commitment to excellence, thoughtfulness, creativity, and collaboration.

The feeling of inspiration and passion I’ve always garnered from our community remains a driving force in our mission - and the relationships we enjoy with you, our valued clients, continue to energize us and bring us joy.

With this trusted team of marketing experts, we've been able to grow and expand into markets and mediums in new and exciting ways. Our small-but-mighty team is trusted by brands with staffs numbering 4 to 40 to 400, and in MOST cases, Sokos Solutions is the sole marketing provider for our clients.

It’s a true honor to support clients in this way, but I’d be remiss if I didn’t also acknowledge the tremendous responsibility - to you, to your brand, and to those you serve.

In the coming year, we have BIG (like, really big) plans.

A RISING TIDE

With big waves comes a big WaveMaker

Our newly-minted Director of Brand Strategy, Danae DeShazer, will develop our in-house brand team into an even more robust creative studio, called CAUSE AN EFFECT.

We’ve kicked around this idea for a while now - my earliest notes tagged #CAE are from 2018. With lingering pre-pandemic-era projects now squarely in the rearview mirror, it’s time to put our foot on the gas.

We envision Cause An Effect to become the signature Solution of Sokos, providing the content, design, and strategy components to build your brand strategy from top to bottom. In fact, Cause An Effect was always the inspiration for OUR rebrand!

This is not necessarily a shift away from the recurring communications solutions we provide, but clarifying our team’s best value proposition: we build systems to streamline digital marketing through creative brand storytelling and results-driven strategies to scale.

Cause An Effect is a custom-tailored six-month scope of work laser-focused on crafting brand stories, creating stunning visuals to communicate that story better and faster, and developing strategic marketing plans for implementation by an in-house team.

Content | Design | Strategy is more than just a tagline on our logo. It’s truly our philosophy as marketers - and what we spend our time doing, creating, and developing every day.

I’ve described to you before the challenges of keeping mental health & physical wellbeing a priority as marketers in the ever-connected digital age. A simplified focus on brand strategy will help our team stay focused on delivering excellent creative work, creating more space for deep work and thoughtful strategy.

Changes on the horizon

As our team’s priorities shift in the next wave, so will mine.

Plans are in motion for me to step away from client work at Sokos Solutions. Instead, I will be deepening my focus on brand strategy in the industry that makes my heart beat faster.

Kefi Streetside Cafe was just the beginning of Jason’s and my dreams to build meaningful hospitality brands and serve our community. Over the coming weeks, you’ll hear from me directly on how our team’s responsibilities will shift later this fall.

As our Director of Brand Strategy, Danae will lead the content team, our experts in content and design solutions. She has my absolute trust and deepest appreciation for understanding why this next wave is critical for me as a human, partner, daughter, sister, friend, and community member. I can’t wait to share more with you very soon.
